little miss muffet

Tomorrow's the big moving day. Finally. Out to the Hills where we coinhabit with the deer, elk, coyotes, wild turkies, mountain lions (of which I've only seen foot prints), foxes, numerous small and furry rhodents, bats, hawks, and black widow spiders (saw another one of those yesterday).
Speaking of spiders, there's these other HUGE non-venomous [I hope] spiders. Man, I'm not usually queasy around spiders, but these suckers give me the heebie-jeebies. They are super fast, super big, grey and hairy, and don't seem to be afraid of people. They walk right out and plop down next to you. I think it's probably some species of wolf spider, which are harmless, but ugly and freaky nonetheless.

But the other day we saw elk in the meadow in front of our house.
